About George:

George is a full blooded Alaska Native Tlingit who resides in Hoonah Alaska. His Mother Ruth is originally from Klukwan Alaska, a village about 21 miles outside of Haines Alaska. He comes from the Brown Bear House, Xoots Xit and his Tlingit name is Stu Woo Kaa, "Wise Man" in English.

George is self taught in the art form of Beadwork, and has some guidance from his Great Grand Mother Alice Lee in Chilkat Weaving, she was a Master Weaver both in Chilkat and Basket weaving. George has reported to have said he can hear her talking to him while he weaves, especially when he makes a mistake!
